KSBA area on Los Angeles Sectional chart, with Avare set to Portrait Mode in Preferences. Show Background is also set in Preferences to demonstrates how that setting improves the readability of informational text at the top of the chart display, while also reducing visibility of the underlying chart area. Many users prefer these settings on relatively large-screen devices like the Nexus 7. The red dashed line pointing North, the “–:–” blank Time to Destination value at the top-right, and the “0kt” text all indicate that GPS indicated to Avare that the device was not moving.
