This screen was displayed while near SBA, by selecting Simulation Mode in Preferences. Then with an active data connection, Freeport was input as the Destination. When the name Freeport wasn’t found in the airport code database, Avare automatically queried Google Maps and acquired the approximate coordinates of the city. Then after looking at the chart the user input the MYGF code, and Avare centered the display on the airport as seen above. This is a quick way to view any named place or address that Google Maps can find. Of course any airport for which you know the code can simply be input as the Destination in Simulation Mode and the display will be instantly centered there (presuming you have obtained the appropriate chart using the Download feature).
